I am Rob Dickinson. My Grandfather was Walter Hadden of Dunmacmay. He was one of six sibling, the other 5 being Fanny, John, William, Hans and Alfred. There father was William. They lived on a farm bordering on the Blackwater River, which separates County Tyrone from County Monaghan. I  was lucky enough to visit the farm in 2011. It has been unoccupied since 1952 bit it must have been quite the place in it's day. After William and his wife died, the farm came into my grandfathers name. In 1927 he emigrated to Canada where he lived the rest of his life. I have much information on the Haddens on my family tree and if you would like to review it, email me at  robdickinson@rogers.com and I will be happy to invite you to view it.

James HADDEN b. c1812 Cookstown

I am the great-great grandson of the above James Hadden (see Barry's post on Sunday, November 30, 2008 for a detailed tree). I'm trying to connect him to other Hadden's in Tyrone, and, possibly, ultimately back to East Lothian in Scotland where I believe these Hadden's came from. I currently live in Bangkok, Thailand

Edit: February 11, 2011 2:57 AM
I'm now not sure that my Haddens came from East Lothian, but I do think they came from Scotland originally. If there are any male Haddens out there, please consider taking the 67 marker yDNA test at familytreedna.com - a great (modern) way to confirm connections! thanks

Rev. Samuel spent many years as Superintendent of the East Belfast Mission at 99 Euston Street, Ballymacarrett, Belfast working amongst the poor people.
